Is A Leaky Gut The Reason For Auto-Immune & Chronic Fatigue?

   More and more we are seeing TV ad's for stomach drugs and products to soothe indigestion. What if simple heartburn and bloating weren't the only things effecting your health. There is a condition which doctors are starting to learn more about each day called "Leaky Gut Syndrome". This is a condition in which the digestive system, through years of either abusive eating or mega doses of anti-biotic, certain medications and stress full living, results in this dis-ease. The digestive system becomes inflamed and irritated more often because of acidic foods, antibiotics and foods that are lacking essential enzymes. The more this occurs, the body slowly produces small tears along the inside of the stomach and parts of the digestive system. These tears are created from the inflammation of the digestive tissue and allow undigested food nutrients into the blood stream. The blood toxins that these nutrients become are the actual conditions themselves. The body is not designed to digest food nutrients such as proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals directly in the bloodstream. This is the job of the stomach along with friendly bacteria and essential enzymes working together. When the body deals with these blood toxins with each malnutritious meal we start to feel the tell tale signs of the disease Fribromyalgia.
     Most people that are struggling with this dis-ease feel the symptoms after eating meals, which makes sense the stomach is where it starts. When these toxins enter the blood stream they cause the body's natural defense system to kick in and try to correct the foreign matter invading it's space. This is where the chronic fatigue and auto immune play a big role in diagnosing this dis-ease that many women and men have been dealing with for decades. The chronic fatigue is the bodies way of saying that there is a major problem with the fuel tank, but unfortunately we become used to the symptoms and just deal with it or use medications to band-aid the actual problem. Then the auto-immune is the next in order for it is the auto immune function the body has to correct all foreign problems. The more we allow this to go on we just simply wear out our immune systems. With both of these major symptoms that most people if you asked them would tell you they experience often or if not daily are the true precursor's of most diseases today.
     Now that we start to understand the cause's of Fibromyalgia and it's ability to truly disable the body, we see that the dis-ease is a by product of poor digestion and the lack of nutritious foods rich in enzymes, healthy soil organism's, and our natural friendly bacteria. If we simply treat the body to more nutritious and easier to digest foods we can reverse most, if not all, of the damage to the fuel tank. What we are not taught is that meats take any where from 4-7 days to completely leave the human digestive system. Plants such as grains, nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables take about 24 hours to completely leave. Not hard to see what is better fuel for the system. I am not saying that you should not eat meat or that the body is not designed for it since I truly believe that we are Omnivores. What I am saying is that we need to tip the scales so that the good greatly out ways the bad. This is where the true health of the human comes to play. We are truly designed to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and also enjoy the occasional animal product and balance the health of the system. Unfortunately we take everything to the extreme now a days and we live to eat instead of eating to live. By really looking at our daily nutritional needs we can truly sustain more energy with less fuel as long as we are eating more nutritious high energy food. In return, the body will heal itself by not having to digest as often allowing the nutrients to be be absorbed properly by the tissues and cells they where intended for. Using essential enzymes supplements with each meal will be a great way to insure proper digestion and healing. Also after the use of anti-biotics we have to replace what they where designed to destroy which is all bacteria. Destroying the good bacteria which was first put there from birth and from the colostrum that our mothers gave us through breast feeding is one of the true reason we have such weakened immune systems. By using pro-biotics we can replace certain strains of these friendly bacteria that help not only digest foods better but also protect us from infections and dis-ease.
     We truly are what we eat. If we do not take time to eat healthier, organic, non refined and easier to digest food, we will continue to make more dis-eases in the future. Some easy suggestions I can offer you to help this transition is to drink plenty of fresh water daily to help keep all cells hydrated for absorption. Juice fresh organic fruits and vegetables daily to help give optimum absorption of nutrients to the body with less effort needed by the stomach without having to digest heavy solids. Eating fresh raw foods during the day is also a must to help cleanse the intestines and blood stream with the fibers and antioxidants. By eating healthier foods we will slowly rebuild the digestive tissue that was once damaged. We will experience a new vibrancy and energy that we once remembered. The immune system will not be weakened and the cold or flu that will not go away will be a thing of the past.
     Just remember that this is not always going to be easy to achieve, but every day that you apply some of this to your diet you will see a big difference to your health. We must be the change that want to see.
